Yoneda Tenjin Shrine, a branch shrine of Tomari Shrine in Kakogawa City, is said to have been rebuilt by Iori Miyamoto, the adopted son of Miyamoto Musashi and a chief retainer of the Kokura domain. The event features a thrilling atmosphere with food stalls (yatai) from each neighborhood parading through the town. Floats from various towns also participate in the procession. The festival honors the legacy of Miyamoto Musashi through the historical figure of his adopted son.
