Details
This traditional fall festival is dedicated to Kinken-gu Shrine, the guardian deity of the Tsurugi district. The event features a grand parade through the town where a portable shrine leads the way, followed by lion dance troupes and large floats. The floats, known as tsukurimono, are crafted annually by local neighborhoods and are a major attraction, often carrying giant dolls approximately 5 meters tall. At night, these floats are illuminated, creating a captivating atmosphere distinct from the daytime view. The festival showcases deep historical roots and community craftsmanship.
