About this event
SummaryA special exhibition bringing the Yokosuka Museum of Art's collection to Izumi City.
Highlights
• Masterpieces of early modern Japanese Western painting
• Paintings of the sea
• Works by artist Tanai Rokuuro
• Contemporary art with regional ties
Details
This exhibition is made possible by a disaster preparedness agreement between the Izumi City Kubo Shoten Memorial Museum and the Yokosuka Museum of Art. The Yokosuka Museum of Art, located on the Miura Peninsula overlooking Tokyo Bay, is known for its collection of modern Japanese masterpieces and works by Rokuro Taniguchi, whose illustrations appeared on magazine covers for many years. The exhibition explores the charm of the collection through four perspectives, including paintings themed around the sea and artists with connections to the region.
