Details
This exhibition showcases the museum's Western art collection, which was originally housed in a specialized museum of Eastern antiquities. The museum opened a dedicated Western art gallery in 1997 with the opening of its new wing. Since then, it has become one of the few museums in Osaka offering Western paintings year-round. To commemorate the city's 70th anniversary, the museum is presenting this complete collection for the first time, including works held on long-term loan. This event offers a rare opportunity to experience one of the museum's most celebrated collections as a whole, featuring entrusted works that have become a significant part of the museum's identity.
