About this event

Summary
Traditional exhibition featuring historical horse sculptures from the late Edo to early Showa periods.

Details
This exhibition showcases a variety of white horses created during the late Edo period to the early Showa period. The event is held to commemorate "Hassaku," which refers to the first day of the eighth month in the old lunar calendar. This day is traditionally known as the "Festival of the Rice Plant" or "Festival of the Rice Grain," marking an important occasion for praying for a bountiful rice harvest. During this time, prayers for a good harvest were traditionally performed in the fields.
