Details
This exhibition showcases the interior of the Skylrail cars that operated within the Midorizaka Housing Complex in Aki Ward. The Skylrail's drive system is a world-unique combination of the best features of a ropeway, monorail, and linear motor. It was characterized by its ability to handle steep gradients, curves, and resistance to wind. The cars served as a familiar and convenient means of transportation for the residents of the housing complex for many years, operating from its opening in August 1998 until its final operation at the end of April 2024.
