Details
The exhibition honors Paul Cezanne (1839-1906), a pivotal figure who revolutionized 20th-century art. Born in Aix-en-Provence, he moved to Paris to study art, where he encountered modernity. Although he participated in two Impressionist exhibitions, he distanced himself from their focus on fleeting moments. Settling back in Provence, he refined his practice to express form and space through color using constructive brushstrokes. The event presents a selection of Cezanne's works alongside pieces by painters who inherited his legacy, allowing visitors to appreciate his enduring impact on generations of artists. The collection includes still lifes, landscapes, and portraits that demonstrate his innovative approach to art.
