About this event
SummaryPhotography exhibition by Yasutaka Kojima exploring a timeless Berlin through the lens of quantum theory and Shinto philosophy.
Details
Book and Sons presents "Nakaima | Berlin," a photography exhibition by artist Yasutaka Kojima. The series is inspired by cutting-edge quantum theory and the ancient Shinto concept of "Nakaima," which refers to the present moment at the center of time and space. Kojima captures a Berlin that feels removed from familiar histories and memories, as if it exists outside time and space. The photographs utilize a flat, minimalist composition shot from eye level, removing specific locations and historical references to allow viewers to find their own meanings. Beneath each image lies a quiet sense of time and distance, suggesting a deeper, cyclical flow of time where the past, present, and future coexist in a "three-dimensional present." The exhibition follows earlier work in Tokyo and New York.
