The event, titled "Yanagawa Gonkai no Jin," is held in the Yanagawa Shopping District to promote the history of the first lord of the Yanagawa Domain, Toshiharu Tachibana, and his wife, O-Chiyo. The festival transforms the city into a pedestrian zone, offering a mix of historical reenactment and modern entertainment. Participants can wield sponge swords that do not cause injury, wearing colored balls on their arms as "lives" for the game. The event is free of charge and open to individuals aged 5 and up. Cosplay is encouraged. Safety measures include alcohol-based hand sanitizers and health monitoring to prevent the spread of illness. The event is organized by the Yanagawa Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with IKUSA Co., Ltd.
