A historical festival celebrating the heritage of Utsunomiya City.

The event, which began in 1996, features a main historical procession recreating the time when Toda Tadazumi, the 46th lord of Utsunomiya Castle, entered the city on his way to Nikko to serve as a proxy for the Shogun. A large number of citizens participate by dressing in matching happi coats, wearing straw hats (ichimonji kasa), straw sandals (waraji), and carrying traditional tools while parading through the center of Utsunomiya City.
