About this event

Summary
Yudate Kagura is a traditional Shinto ritual performance dedicated to Nagao Shrine, passed down since the Edo period.

Details
This event consists of the Yudate ritual and the Yudate dance. Three performers initially hold offerings and bells, and later bells and swords, dancing as if the water in the Yudate kettle is gradually boiling. The performance has been offered to the shrine since before the mid-Edo period and continues to this day.
