Details
The festival at Manro Susano Shrine features a distinctive lion dance where Tengu, a mythical creature with a long nose and wings, appears in the ne-shishi (sleeping lion) and hana no mai (flower dance) performances. One Tengu holds a hana, a bamboo offering, while a figure called Otakufu holds a stick shaped like a male genitalia. Both figures dance and jump around the lion or engage in suggestive gestures.
