The event takes place in Asakusa Ichifuku Alley (also referred to as Asakusa Ichifuku-ro or Asakusa Ippuku Street), a roughly 50-meter stretch located directly behind the Asakusa Public Hall (Asakusa Kokaido Hall) leading to Nakamise Street. This area features long-established shops and restaurants that condense the appeal of Asakusa, including:
  • Ume-en (also known as Umezono): Famous for delicious sweet red bean soup (awa-zenzai).
  • Daikokuya: A popular restaurant specializing in tempura rice bowls (tendon).
  • Asakusa Shizuki (also referred to as Asakusa Sagemitsu): An 80-year-old traditional Ryokan (inn).
  • Unagi Wadahei: A restaurant serving eel (unagi).
  • Hyotan: A restaurant serving Edo-style monjayaki.
The event program includes a karaoke show, performances of shamisen (a three-stringed Japanese lute) and dance by Asakusa Geisha (traditional female entertainers, also referred to as Asakusa Geigi), and a grand lottery.
