This is the fifth year of the "NAKED Matsushima - National Treasure Rigan-ji - Autumn Night Pilgrimage" held at Rigan-ji Temple in Matsushima Town, Miyagi Prefecture. The temple was established by Date Masamune, the founder of the Sendai Domain. The event combines learning and sensory experiences, moving beyond traditional viewing to allow visitors to immerse themselves in the temple's history. Light and sound create a fantastical atmosphere, highlighting the moon's reflection on the Matsushima landscape and the temple's architecture. The program connects National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties, intuitively conveying their sculptural beauty and historical significance through shadows and colors. New additions include an audio guide for deeper historical insight and projection mapping performances. Visitors can also purchase "NAKED Distance Lanterns" for 300 yen and participate in the "NAKED Hanamikuji" interactive fortune-telling for 500 yen per person.
