The exhibition brings together the original drawings and the print series 'Hisui Hyakka-fu' (also known as 'Hissu Hyakka' or 'Hishui Hyakuka'), allowing visitors to appreciate and compare the two. Triggered by a discovery in Kawagoe, the collection includes 71 previously unknown original drawings that attracted attention for their remarkable draftsmanship and Sugiura's close observation of nature. Alongside the main works, the exhibition features Touei Shaseizu, a series of distinctive silhouette studies. These works offer insight into how 'Hisui Hyakka-fu' was conceived and its place within Sugiura's design practice, representing a significant opportunity in the history of design.
