This festival is dedicated to the Jinushi Shrine (also referred to as Jishu Shrine) and serves as a prayer for a bountiful harvest, peace throughout the island, and the well-being of the islanders. The event has a history spanning over 440 years. The traditional dance performance features two distinct groups: one performing in a mainland Japanese style and the other in a Ryukyu (Okinawan) style. The festival is recognized as a nationally designated important intangible cultural asset.
