Details
The Tamakusu Beer Terrace is an event held in the courtyard and Rose Terrace of the Yokohama Opening Historical Museum. The venue utilizes the Tamakusu (Camphor) Tree and the Rose Terrace, offering a chance to enjoy craft beers and food from Yokohama. This event takes place in Yokohama, the birthplace of the Japanese beer industry, providing a special day dedicated to tasting Yokohama's craft beers. The proceeds from this event will be used to preserve the Tamakusu Tree, which has witnessed the history of Yokohama's opening to the world. The event features a 13-Variety Tasting Set, a limited-edition set in collaboration with the Yokohama Craft Beer Association (YCA). This tasting set allows you to sample beers from all 13 breweries that are members of YCA. The Tamakusu Tree is a Tabuno tree approximately 12 meters tall located in the courtyard. It has stood on this site since the Edo period and is a symbol of Yokohama's opening to the world. The tree appeared in a painting depicting Commodore Perry's landing in Yokohama in 1854. Despite suffering significant damage in the Great Fire of 1866 and the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, the tree's life has continued. The event aims to cherish and pass on the Tamakusu Tree to the next generation. The 13-Variety Tasting Set includes 13 different craft beers from 13 breweries in Yokohama. Each brewery will provide their recommended beer. The serving size per beer is approximately 100ml, with a total volume of approximately 1300ml. The number of sets available is limited. The event also features a Spring Valley 4-Pack tasting ticket. The event is designed for both those who regularly enjoy craft beer and those who are interested in trying different Yokohama craft beers. Please note that the specific beers offered may vary. The event encourages using public transportation if drinking and does not serve alcoholic beverages to individuals under 20 years of age.
