About this event
SummaryAn exhibition at Edo-Tokyo Museum focusing on Hideatsu, the younger brother of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and protagonist of the 2026 historical drama.
Details
The exhibition explores the life of Hideatsu, a figure who received little attention, highlighting his achievements that supported his brother Hideyoshi's unification of Japan. It features valuable historical materials and artifacts related to the Toyotomi family, including Oda Nobunaga, Tokugawa Ieyasu, Kuroda Kanbei, Fujitaka, Sen no Rikyu, and Kodaiben. Rare cultural artifacts on display include Hideatsu's portrait, letters revealing his gentle nature, and a tea container definitively identified as his. The event also showcases items connected to the family's rise and fall, such as materials related to their service under Oda Nobunaga and submission to Tokugawa Ieyasu, as well as cultural support from Sen no Rikyu and the witness of the family's end by Kodaiben.
