Details
This event takes place at the former Sasaki family residence, a designated Important Cultural Property in the Minami Ward of Niigata City. The illumination features a variety of light displays, including projection mapping that highlights traditional elements like shoji screens. The event showcases engineering technology-based interactive art created by students from Niigata University and an area produced by students from Mikata Junior High School. Local children contribute scratch art, complementing approximately 400 lanterns to create a diverse range of light displays. On specific nighttime opening days, the garden, which is normally closed after dark, will be open to the public, offering a unique opportunity to view the illuminated landscape. Starting in 2025, the projection mapping inside the building will be updated to also project onto the exterior roof, creating a space that expresses Niigata's treasures.
