Details
The location is a deep, V-shaped valley carved by the emerald-green Iya River. When viewed from above, the river appears dizzyingly far below, creating a breathtaking sight. In autumn, the entire mountainside transforms into a vibrant display of red and green leaves, visible from both cars and buses. Along the cliffs of the Iya River, remnants of the construction of the Iya Kaido (ancient road) jut out. On top of one of these rocks stands the "Little Boy Urinating" statue. This statue was created based on a local anecdote about how local children and travelers used to test their courage by standing on the rock.
