The event is divided into two distinct halves. In the first half, jazz critic Shin’ya Takagi will unravel the evolution and trajectory of John Coltrane’s music. He will utilize precious audio sources and rare recordings to provide a profound talk on the jazz giant’s legacy and musical journey. The second half features a live performance by a quartet led by saxophonist Ami Nakazono (also referred to as Akemi Nakason in some records). Known for her soul-stirring tones, she captivates the audience with a passionate performance that inherits Coltrane’s spirit. The quartet brings legendary masterpieces back to life with today’s intense groove, offering a luxurious moment to learn history while indulging in supreme live music.
