Details
This exhibition expands the narrative of the 1979 theatrical release 'Galaxy Express 999: Eternal Story' by Leiji Matsumoto into a three-dimensional experience. Visitors travel through space as passengers alongside characters Tetsuro Hoshino and Maetel, experiencing the story from departure at Megalopolis Station to the final scene. The venue utilizes the latest 4K laser projectors to create a vast visual space where images and audio are projected onto walls and floors. The experience combines visuals, audio, and spatial design to allow visitors to immerse themselves in the universe of the work, exploring themes such as the longing for mechanical beings and the concept of eternal life versus limited life. After the visual journey, visitors walk a 25-meter track displaying famous lines from the story and production materials. An original pamphlet provides deeper insights into the work and the exhibition's production, while exclusive merchandise is sold at the museum shop.
