About this event

Summary
Experience modern architecture in Kyoto through an interdisciplinary exhibition featuring historical themes and student perspectives.

Details
This event is part of the Kyoto Modern Architecture Festival, featuring a collaborative project between the organizers and Kyoto University of Art and Design (also known as Kyoto Institute of Art and Design). The exhibition explores three main themes: the life and achievements of Aritomo Yamagata, the features of the modern garden masterpiece Murinan (also referred to as Mugenin or Mugenin Teien), and the expansion of the Higashiyama Grand Tea Ceremony (also referred to as Higashiyama Dai-cha-kai or Higashiyama Grand Tea Gathering) held during the Taisho era. Visitors can explore these topics through explanatory panels, garden models, and related materials. The event offers a unique student perspective on the world of modern tea culture and aesthetics nurtured in the Higashiyama region.
