Details
The event begins with the Unified Kakikurabe, where four danjiri floats and two mikoshi gather at the north parking lot of Danbara Central Park. Spectators can witness the elegant sight of more than 100 lanterns floating. Following this, the Ayano Shrine Autumn Festival presents the Matsushita-style Danchu Yatsu, a designated intangible folk cultural asset. This performance recreates the Edo period's Sankin-kotai (alternate attendance) system. The procession, led by the Yatsu, includes the mikoshi adorned with naginata, large bird hair, small bird hair, and bear hair spears. The event is renowned for its Kenka-nō, where the Yatsu and mikoshi engage in lively skirmishes along the route, circling each other in a competitive yet playful manner.
